About

My journey to UX/UI design sprung somewhat unconventionally from being a senior designer developing bedding/soft home products for major companies including Martha Stewart, Tommy Hilfiger, and Nautica. During my 10 years in the textile industry, I developed a passion for:

- Creating Compelling and Useful Products.
- Visual Storytelling with Color, Texture, and Motif.
- Providing Technical Instructions to Manufacturers.
- Working Cross-functionally with Stakeholders.

In 2017 I took a visual design course at the General Assembly for digital products. This was pivotal because it started my path as a freelancer designing branding and websites for small companies and startups.

After moving from New York back to Seattle (where I am originally from) I pursued a UX/UI Design certificate from CareerFoundry to develop the below UX/UI skills and expand my focus:

- User Research, Competitive Analysis.
- User Stories, Personas, User Flows, Journey Maps.
- Sitemaps, Wireframing, Prototyping
- User Testing
- Prioritizing a user-centric approach

Now Iā€™m working as a UX/UI designer to create inspiring and useful digital products that serve both user and business needs. I am based in Seattle but am open to remote work.

In my free time I enjoy traveling, swing dancing, and hiking. I also own a dog and cat themed product business called Dash and Hound Designs where I design and illustrate products such as art prints, tote bags, ornaments and cards that I sell on my website, www.dashandhound.com.
